Historic Square

Trancoso, which used to be a paradise for the “hippies”, became a more stylish destiny.

Its colorful shops, its restaurants with classic menus and fancy bars turn Trancoso in a magic place.

The “Historic Square” is the touristy center of the village and has no paving or lampposts. The stars illuminate it.

The white São João Batista church crowns the Square and behind it there is the sightseeing (lookuot-point), a place full of energy specially at full moon nights, where many go to watch stars and see the moon rising.

In front of the sightseeing there is the mouth of Trancoso River. Going north, Nativos Beach and south, Coqueiros Beach. Both assure sea, sand and blue sky.
